Ribnica Monastery
History
We invite all those God-longing souls who are interested in the monastic life to join us, to make a joint effort, in love and harmony, on the plan of salvation, both personally and for our sinful and suffering Serbian race. Every nation needs a strong and healthy monasticism, in order for that nation to prosper with God's grace and to have someone to pray for it. We are here to help our people in this way, and we want and pray that all the peoples of this world realize the value and beauty of the original Christian monastic life.

Due to unsound construction, it was replaced in the eighties of the 19th century by the current building, a very spacious building used by several surrounding villages. When Ribnica got a new school building in the early eighties, the old one was turned into a boarding school. The cultural monument, in addition to its undoubted artistic qualities, also possesses the attributes of a testimony important for the study of historical events in the Valjevo region, from the middle of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century.
